I'm heading to a new job in the new year (not sure what yet) and I'm still up in the air about this blog. Where/how/what/when to write?
I'm still reading, crafting, and now house-fixing-upping. I'll be gardening when the light returns... and when I can get my hands on a pair of weatherproof overalls. The only ones for sale here are made for giant men.
Here's some news from the Scottish front:
Fir tree arrives in kitchen with snow still on branches
Rained so much it flooded... oh, again
Walls in house are all identical shade of butter yellow... still
120 books exchanged at the 5th Annual Thanksgiving Dinner and Book Exchange
Mad Christmas ornament making frenzy ensued shortly thereafter
Books I've finished and haven't written about (tut tut)
- The Periodic Table
- The Snowman
- The Woman in White
- Wuthering Heights
There may be more that I've forgotten! I'll get you some thoughts on these soon.
Meanwhile, hope for more snow!
You did have me for a minute there! I hope you'll continue to blog, even if just sporadically. And I'd really like to hear your thoughts on The Woman in White in particular :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Ana! It's been a weird year! But anyway, there are always more books to talk about :)
ReplyDeleteLoved the Woman in White, won't do it justice.
Phrw, yes, I also thought you were talking about your blog!
ReplyDeleteHope the house gets ready soon, sounds like a lot of work. Talking of work - good luck finding a new job. I'm thinking of looking soon also.
Thank you Judith! I'm finding the new house much less conducive to blogging... so many other things to do. Good luck with your own job search if you do start looking.
ReplyDeleteGlad that you'll be working elsewhere-- you certainly haven't seemed excited about the job for a while.
ReplyDeleteI'm curious about any Fingersmith- Woman in White connections you might make (I've not read The Woman in White).
Also, when you have some time on-line (I know you just said you're not spending time on-line, but anyway), could you e-mail me with your current social e-mail and your physical address? I went to send a Christmas card (okay, to think about sending a Christmas card) and realized I had your older address with me rather than the newer.
AH! Now I know why certain elements of The Woman in White seemed so familiar. Thanks for pointing out the connection.
ReplyDeleteHooray for moving on from a boring job! That door will close and others will open. Good luck in your search! Post some pics of your new house, I bet it's lovely in the snow! Merry X-mas and a happy new year to you and Andy!
