Stamping

Scotland. It always rains, and then, THIS.

Last week's weather was something else: snow, ice, hurricane winds (90+ mph), flooding, torrential rain, landslides, hail, and more snow. Luckily, we were able to get out and enjoy the most beautiful, snowy day so far. (Click photos to enlarge.)

In other news, I've been busy gluing little pieces of paper to other pieces of paper.

I've been making postage stamp collages, and then I noticed how diverse the envelope backs were. So I made some envelope collages as well.

It works well for bookmarks.

And the results are even better for ornaments!

It's easy -- you just glue the stamps on a plain bauble with a gluestick and then mod-podge over the top once the ornament is covered.

I'm really happy with the way they turned out. Now I just have to start saving stamps again; I've run out of pretty ones.

  1. This is such a great idea! I have a bunch of stamps I never really knew what to do with, so I just might borrow it. Also, that owl ornament in the last picture is so adorable!

  2. Thank you! I would love it if you used my idea to make your own ornaments! I made the owl also from a pattern.

  3. Happy snowfall. Scotland was the first place I lived where it rained in December. As a Coloradan, I found Christmas shopping in drizzle horribly depressing (in Colorado, if it precipitates in the winter, it snows!). Enjoy the bright white.

  4. It's raining again and it's washed away all the snow and ice. I guess we're used to it by now! Still, it was nice to have snow for a little while.

  5. Nice snow pictures! It's been raining here, too. No snow in sight.
