Maybe it's the cold, but I keep switching from one book to another. On audio I've had David Sedaris's Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim; then I started Guns, Germs, and Steel by Jared Diamond which I had forgotten I had. The library phoned to say my request for another audio book was in, 84 Charing Cross Road. I'm not sure I'm well enough to go pick it up.
Those will keep me busy for a while! With audio books you don't have the same feeling of the pages turning, so I kind of feel that I haven't read much this week, only 100 pages into Smilla. I'm savoring it; it's so brilliant.
Meanwhile, I'll be cheeky and torment you with yet another photo of my recent knitting projects: the socks I made for my husband which took me over a year. You can see they're not quite exactly alike.

I hope to get back to posting about books soon!
I like socks that are "fraternal twins," rather than identical. Those look cozy!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you're not well, but Smilla sounds like just the thing with which to curl up...
Get well soon!!
ReplyDeleteEmily, I seem incapable of making two items identical anyway! I expect I'll make a habit of it.
ReplyDeleteFrl. Irene, thank you! I am nearly there.
The socks are fantastic and I hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Plenty of books was the prescription, I think.
