Even though I seem to be going nowhere fast with the reading challenges I've joined already, I'm going to join another one (or maybe two). The Complete Booker 2010 Challenge is a spin-off of the Complete Booker project, an ongoing project to read all the Booker prize winners. For 2010 Laura is giving us a little extra push to dive into those Booker prize lists, whether winners, short listed or long listed -- Sign up here!
I'm signing up for the Winners Circle: read at least 6 Booker prize winners in 2010.
Here are the prize winners I currently have on my bookshelf; I hope that I'll be able to get through six of them this year!
COMPLETED:
The Blind Assassin by Margaret Atwood (2000)
Last Orders by Graham Swift (1996) (reread)
Amsterdam by Ian McEwan (1998)
YET TO GO:
The Sea, the Sea by Iris Murdoch (1978)
Possession by A.S. Byatt (1990)
The Famished Road by Ben Okri (1991)
The Ghost Road by Pat Barker (1995)
Vernon God Little by DBC Pierre (2003)
The Sea by John Banville (2005)
That's a great list of reads you have there! I've read all but The Famished Road & The Ghost Road (hmmm...that's weird) but will be reading them in 2010. Can't wait to see what you think of these!
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking I should probably avoid reading The Sea and The Sea, the Sea back to back. But maybe it would make things more interesting?! We could do a read-along with the Roads, if you want.
