Ready your spurtles!

Thought you all might like to know in advance, so you can get properly prepared --

WORLD PORRIDGE DAY is on Sunday, 11 October!

The World Porridge Making Championships are also this weekend. We're all on pins and needles waiting to see who gets the golden spurtle this year. But I can't believe we're going to miss the porridge parade :(

We're going out to Aberdeen this weekend, but I suppose there's a chance we might eat some porridge on Sunday...

  1. Oh Wow! Didn't some lady from around Oban win last year? It's amazing how they can celebrate this without a hint of irony. They take their porridge very seriously! And what the heck is a spurtle?

  2. A spurtle is a special implement JUST FOR MAKING PORRIDGE!! It's kinda long and rounded and has a blunt end.

We have one at home... but we still haven't figured out which end you're supposed to stick in the porridge. We're obviously not from around here!
