Loving Frank: A Novel by Nancy HoranMy rating: 2 of 5 stars
Historical novel about Mamah Cheney who had an affair with Frank Lloyd Wright. Interesting since I had never known about the affair or its tragic ending. My criticism of the book is that perhaps it sticks a bit too close to reality and, in the end, Mamah's voice is snuffed out while Frank's lives on.
The long bits on Swedish feminism and building projects also got somewhat dry. While the story of the affair was interesting while I was reading, I kept wondering where the relationship was going, and when the book was going to be over. Then, suddenly, it was over in a flash, with no warning. I wasn't even motivated enough to read the last few pages until a week or so later.
