Deliciously creepy. Especially because the power kept flickering on and off during the film and they had to get up and restart the projector a few times...
The new local film club's first showing -- for our fortnightly dose of culture. Looking forward to some slightly more offbeat films than the ones that usually play at the cinema.
This one was imaginative, atmospheric, with moments of goofiness and charm, mystery, cliche and surprising sympathies.
we rented that a few months ago. i really liked it. such a different, well-developed atmosphere. good stuff.
ReplyDeleteI love this movie! It's such a great take on traditional vampire movies. It's sad that everyone else is watching "Twilight" instead, this one is amazing.
ReplyDeleteI love "Twilight" as well (it IS a great film), but "Let the Right One In" has a haunting energy that is hard to match (esp. in that pool scene). I recommend "Shivers" (another foreign) film for anyone who loves "Let the Right One In", "Pan's Labyrinth", "The Orphanage"....you get the drift: creepy, atmospheric horror films not made in the U.S.
ReplyDeleteI've been digging vampires all week now!
